born in 1963 in Euskirchen she studied at the conservatory in Detmold right after finishing secondary school to become a sound engineer. Right afterwards she worked as producer at the CD-label SONY Classical. That is where she was involved in numerous CD, TV and film-productions all over Europe and with famous artists and orchestras. She is connected to the Berlin Philharmonics under director Claudio Abbado for many years now. From 1997 on Pauline Heister worked as a freelancer for companies as BMG, DG, NAXOS, WDR etc. She further received a lectureship in the subject of music-transmission at the conservatory in Detmold for 2 years. Since 2000 she is employed at the Bayerischer Rundfunk (Bavarian Broadcast Company) in Munich. There she is the chief editor of chamber music and production since 2003. She occasionally acts as a judge in competitions.
