Karl-Peter Kammerlander

 

was born in 1960 in Salzburg. He studied school music and piano at the Music Academy in Graz as well as song interpretation at the Music Academy in Stuttgart (with Konrad Richter). For several years he worked as a song accompanist and as pianist in chamber music ensembles and piano duos.

In addition to more than 30 radio and television recordings both in Germany and abroad there are published 40 CDs with the label "Music-Partner". Karl-Peter Kammerlander was a successful participant in various competitions: Hugo-Wolf Song Competition (Stuttgart 1987), Competition for Song Accompanists (Den Haag 1988) and the Hans-Pfitzner Song Competition (Hamburg 1989). Together with his wife Bettina Möllenkamp (Piano Duo) he was prize winner of several chamber music competitions, e.g. Finale Ligure 1991 and 1992 and the ARD-Competition in Munich 1992 (in the top five duos).

He had teaching posts in various music academies (as vocal coach in Graz and Stuttgart, song interpretation in Karlsruhe and Heidelberg-Mannheim) befor he was appointed to professor 1993 at the Music Academy "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig. Since 2004 Karl-Peter Kammerlander is professor of artistic song interpretation at the LISZT SCHOOL of MUSIC Weimar.
