Master class for artistic song interpretation

Target audience/addressees
The class is targeted at students of the piano, vocals, correpetition, conducting and school music but is also available to other interested parties for either active or passive participation. Application should preferably be carried out by duos. Vocalists and pianists can be arranged for by the lecturer or by the office of the Weidener Max-Reger-Tage on request. The number of possible participants is limited. The sequence in which applications are received determines the participation.
Course catalogue
The repertoire should compass 8 - 10 songs including pieces by Max Reger. The works prepared must be communicated (at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the class) to the office of the Weidener Max-Reger-Tage (see menu item application). Experiences from former classes are reflected in trying to break new ground in terms of song education to expand the appreciation of song as an artwork. Apart from daily duo-excersises the schedule includes „lyrics clinic“ once a day as well as a lecture on „Der amoralische moralist - Richard Dehmel und seine Vertoner“ on Saturday, 17. September (11 am).
Class fee
160 € for active participants. A passive participation (free of charge) is possible.

Beginning of the class/completion of the class
Participants meet on 15. September at the old town hall, 1. floor for an organizational meeting (class schedule etc.). A closing concert will take place on Wednesday, 21. September. Performing students as well as the works will be selected by the lecturer in agreement with the participants.
Class location and possibilities for excercise
The class location is the Alte Rathaus (old town hall), Oberer Markt 1. Sufficient rooms and instruments for excercise are available at Städt. Musikschule (music school).
